The selection and analysis of supplier performance evaluation criteria depends on an understanding of the purchasing decision-making process and is an activity of great importance to the company, since it encompasses aspects such as quality, price and reliability. In this sense, research was carried out on supplier selection and evaluation methods to elucidate how the process works. To this end, it is necessary to understand the purchasing decision-making process, the conditions required for supplier selection and the criteria for evaluating supplier performance. Thus, the work is based on a systematic review of qualitative and quantitative literature. In view of this, it can be seen that 72% of the articles analyzed address the Multicriteria Decision Support methodology and this method has proven to be valid for the problem of supplier evaluation, only 14% of the authors brought the Analytical Hierarchy Process method which presents advantages in the evaluation of objective and subjective data and of the other 14% of the authors addressed Data Envelopment Analysis which discusses the problem of partner selection, which imposes the finding that despite their singularities, they share the proposal that it is crucial to have a systematized method to carry out the selection and evaluation of the organization's suppliers
